I’m trying something a little bit different here: an end of week roundup of articles (on a specific topic). The matter at end this time: AI chatbot ChatGPT.

With 100 million users, ChatGPT becomes the fastest-growing application in history (link)

Stan Schroeder (Mashable) reports on ChatGPT achieving 100 million unique visitors a day in January, growing considerably faster than popular apps such as TikTok and Instagram.

Google is perhaps preparing to challenge ChatGPT (link)

According to CEO Sundar Pichai, Google may be preparing to compete with OpenAI's ChatGPT by allowing users to "interact directly" with its "newest, most powerful language models as a companion to search." notes Mitchell Clark (The Verge).

OpenAI will release a premium version of ChatGPT for $20 per month (link)

CBC News reports that users in the United States who enroll in this paid initiative will soon have priority access to the service, even during periods of high demand when many are now shut out.

Judge in Colombia uses ChatGPT in ruling (link)

As per AFP: In a case involving a plea to exclude an autistic boy from paying costs for medical visits, treatment, and transportation given his parents' restricted finances, Judge Juan Manuel Padilla said he utilized the chatbot. Chaos ensued.

ChatGPT passes US medical licensing exam (link)

In one of the most challenging standardized tests, it scored above 50% (via Bhavya Sukheja, NDTV).
